Last Thursday, Hurricane Erin was approaching. She wasn't going to hit us but just pass by still causing a lot of problems. I took Honey out early in the windy rain. She didn't want to walk.
But she did want to play!I couldn't believe it but the farmer's market was still on in the windy rain.
Not too many people there.
I bought a few things.
Can't miss the pizza.
There is Cookie with her cookies!
The roads started to flood pretty early even though high tide was at 7 pm.
There she is! Getting closer!
I went with Dave and Mike for lunch at the White House in Atlantic City.
Now that's a classic.
Then we went to the Ocean Casino. The ocean was getting mean.
We gambled a bit.
The checked out more of the ocean.
Big waves!
Back at my parent's house, dad showed Eli how the crane works.
Noah practiced piano.
Then we went to dinner offshore at Venturas. This was a funny license plate. .
We finished dinner near high tide, so I took the boys to the end of the island where the ocean meets the bay. The road there was already getting covered in water.
Sketchy.
We got a spot at the point.
Most of it was gone under the waves!
The twins were shocked.
We went over to the ocean side.
The ocean was crazy.
The houses were getting hit by waves.
I never saw water come over the rock wall before.
That was fun but time to head home.
Uh oh, the roads were way more flooded.
I took my time heading back.
My street was looking bad.
I parked just as the water came up our driveway.
When cars went by, the wake would slosh up against the garage.
People walked by.
The water came alongside our house.
Even into the garage a little. Luckily not too much.
Cars got stuck.
The storm was passing by.
It went to Sofia's the restaurant near us to save people!
Then they went to Ariel's friend's house because a transformer exploded. Ariel was staying there will all the camp girls. Her friend's grandfather went out on his canoe and saved people!
Honey had to go but the most of the area was flooded. Part of the backyard was dry so she was happy.
Another view out the front.
We pent a lot of time on the deck watching the scene.
Honey lost interest and took over my bed.
Where am I supposed to sleep Honey?
