Heads All Empty and I Don't Care

I'm getting too old for this. It's Thursday morning and I am tired. Yesterday Aden and I were getting psyched for the Dead. I think he thought he was going. I would have taken him but his dreadlocks haven't grown in yet!

If I were to ever get a tattoo, it would probably be a dancing bear.

Gund made the Jerry Garcia doll after he died.

I promise Aden, if they are still touring in a few years, I will take you!

After work, I drove to the Meadowlands in North Jersey, right outside New York City. It took about an hour and a half. I was excited, it has been about 7 years since these guys toured. I guess I should have worn some Izod.

That's the new Giants Stadium. The Eagles will be beating the stinkin' Giants here in a few months!

As always, they start exactly on time. Because of that, the place was empty and everyone had to rush in. You would think after 45 years of touring, that people would know they even start early sometimes. Is it just me, or is Bob Weir starting to look like Jerry a little?

This brought back suck memories. The first set was very mellow and I actually started nodding off. The second set was more rocking. I left after drums and space but before the encores as it was getting late. They sounded really good and I was glad I got to see them. Getting home at 1 am on a school night is pretty tough though. Amy was nice enough to give Aden his 6 am bottle so I could sleep in a little.

No Swine Flu in Holland

This is now Wednesday morning and I am excited to say that I'm going to see the Dead tonight! For those of you who don't know, I was a bit of a Deadhead back in the day. It's shocking to think that Jerry Garcia has been gone 15 years. I remember where I was when I heard. In my condo, I had a Jerry tribute, which I will have to recreate somewhere in the house. I have one of his paintings and a doll that Gund made to honor him. They are playing this weekend in Philly, but I will be in DC, so this was my only chance to see them on this tour. Hopefully, I will have some good pictures of the night to share tomorrow.

Monday and Tuesday are a blur.

It was really nice out, so after work, we went for a walk. We still don't see anyone around the neighborhood. I finally did some weeding. It was getting pretty bad. Am I the only one who feels bad about pulling them out? They don't belong there but they are living things, that I let grow so long, were starting to bloom. The landscaper wanted $1000 to do it so it was well worth the 1 hour of effort in the heat.

Aden wanted to try out his beach chair.

He was still a little unsteady and needed mom's help. Only three more weeks till the beach!!!

This was Tuesday morning. Aden is very patient while we get ready. He wakes up with the craziest hair and we don't know what to do with it. That's the problem with bathing at night.

I went in to town to meet the realtor, Mike McCann the Real Estate Man, from Prudential. Our condo is officially on the market! If you know anyone who wants a two bedroom condo, with parking, on South Street, let me know!

If you remember last week, I picked up Aden at school and he cried. Yesterday, I had to get him and was concerned but there was nothing to worry about. I didn't get a clear shot of it, but I got a very big smile!

Aden is happy to see daddy! Notice he is playing with the house at school...

and at home. He really loves that thing!

Practicing that crawling.

If you look closely, you can see one of his top teeth has poked through.

We had fun playing with Aden but soon it was bed time. Bed time at 7ish gives us a lot of time to do what we need to but it means less time with the baby.

Yay BBQ!

Sunday was a lazy day.

Amy wants to get some professional pictures of Aden. Apparently mine aren't good enough. We went to Target but they were booked for the day. Anyone know any good places to go? Rose takes Rylee and Reese to Target once a month and likes it there.

We had lunch outside at Wegman's and that was pretty much it for the day. I think this one beats any professional picture!

My mom had her first big barbeque of the season. We always look forward to these and the leftovers that keep us going the rest of the week. It was a little warm still so we ate inside. Aunt Melissa was still in LA and missed it, but we saved her some. Aden was happy to see Uncle Mark and took his hat right away. You can see we gave Aden some hamburger. He ate some but mostly just made a huge mess.

My grandmother didn't want to let him go.

Naked boy!

Aunt Bev is going to help my parents take care of Aden this weekend while Amy and I are in Washington.

Aden loves to take things out of bags. Keep your pocketbooks away!

No, you are not supposed to eat the suntan lotion!

What a mess!

Back to the City

Friday night, my cousins Jen, Mike, Jacob and Jonah came for dinner. It was last minute so we took in food from Aldo's. We hadn't seen them in a while, so it was nice to hang out. I will cook for them next time.

Aden loved watching the boys play. He really can't wait to run around and join them. Soon enough. The piece of Challah in Aden's hand was soon all over the kitchen. More of it ended up on the floor than in his mouth!

Ok, this is a new thing, while cute, is probably not so great. Aden now sits up in the crib and even is trying to pull himself up on the sides.

He goes down.

Then back up again. It's probably time to lower the mattress.

Aden joined my in bed.

We finally got up and looked out the window and just barely caught a picture of a fox in the backyard, standing very close to a bunny, who didn't seem to know what was going on.

Jason and Rachel drove in from North Jersey to spend the day. We all met Alan, Ina, Josh and Sloane at Ben and Irv's. Of course Rylee and Reese were there. (and Rose and Randy too of course!) Aden is always excited to see them. It was Jason and Rachel's first time there and liked it. Alan and Ina told us some very exciting news.

Back to the house so Aden could take a nap. He really liked playing with Jason. He kept pushing him away and laughing.

It was such a nice day, we decided to go into town to walk around a little. We picked up my new suit at Boyds, just in time for the B'nai Mitzvah this weekend and then wandered around. Of course the City was crowded. I loved being back in the middle of it all. We had dinner at La Viola. We sat outside. Aden played with every spoon on the table before they all ended up on the sidewalk. The food was great.

Back up Walnut Street. The Bugaboo was happy to back on City Streets. It likes a challenge. Too easy in the 'burbs!

We walked through Rittenhouse Square. We saw some familiar faces.

Then ended up at the new Barney's store off the Square.

Aden did a little shopping. He picked up that dress for Aunt Melissa.

Then to Barnes and Noble to get Aden some books.

Dessert was on Aden. That was very nice of him. We got back around 9 and Aden went right to sleep.

Yummy Challah

This morning we had the fourth different cleaning person in 4 weeks. That makes it really complicated and annoying because I have to stay and wait for them to come then go through the house and explain what has to be done in Russian, which I don't know! Does anyone have the same person every week that we can borrow?

Thursday Aden had music class. After work, we rushed out to Moish & Itzy's deli in Langhorne. Class starts at 6:15, so we didn't leave a lot of time for eating.

Aden liked the challah. We out a piece in his hands and he just chomped away, at least for a few bites before it ended up on the floor!

We are starting to make friends at music class. It's interesting to see the development of kids at different ages. The girls near Aden's age all seem to be crawling or walking.

No, you hit it, not eat it! It seems that every kid under say 11 months just eats the instruments, although Aden does drum a little.

Aden loves dancing around the most.

It's at a firehouse in Yardley. Amy last class was at Shir Ami where the floors were carpeted. Here, we have to use mats.

The teacher is sure to come around and give every kid a little attention. Aden loves watching her play the guitar.

At the end of class, she always dumps out all the musical instruments for the kids to try out. It's crazy. There's even a song for cleaning up! Aden went right to sleep when we got home at 7:30 and slept through till 6:30.
