Just Average

So yesterday was Aden's four month birthday, still working on cute pics for that, but we also had his four month checkup with Dr. McNett.  First they weighed him, 15 lbs, 5 ozs, that puts him around the 50th percentile and his length was about 26", or about the 60th percentile, or as Amy likes to say, he's average!  Dr. McNett said he looked great and was developing well and that we can start giving him food.  We had recently put the bumpers back in the crib as Aden is moving around so much we were afraid he would bang his head.  He suggested we take them back out.  Oh well.  We will probably switch pediatricians once we move, which make us sad because we love Dr. McNett. (plus it was hard to get him as our doctor in the first place!)  The shots were the worst part.  As you may remember at 2 months, we decided, with Dr. McNett's advice, to give him all the recommended shots at once.  So we did the same this time.  I think it was about 7.  Aden took it like a man.  The rest of the day was like the last time.  He slept for a while, cried for a while, then seemed back to himself.

After the doctor we went to look for granite.

Aden was busy working on the plans for the wall unit in the family room.  He made a space for a 60" tv.  Now if only mommy will agree...

He had some strong opinions about the granite also.  Good thing as Amy and I can't decide.

Here is an option.  Debbie the decorator call this a "cool" color, as in tone not temperature or hipness.  The backsplash would be tumbled marble in pastel colors.

Of the "warmer" stones, this was Amy's choice.

I liked this one.  A little more wild.

This was Aden's favorite.  It reminds him of an impressionist painting.  Like a Cezanne or Monet.  What we can we say, we have a cultured child!

Finally, back home, he was himself again.  I'm sure they will always remember his screaming fit at the granite place.

Wait, what is that in his hand, a green bean?

Now all you need are some teeth!
