Saturday morning we threw Aden in his new stroller and went for a walk along the ocean. It was already warm and sunny! Aden must have been so confused not having to wear a long-sleeved onesie or a jacket. He was also in a new stroller for the first time. He faces us in the Bugaboo, so this was something different.
He liked it!
Mark and Melissa are so happy to be on vacation! Cute picture.
There is a little cafe at the base of the Deerfield Beach Pier where we had breakfast. The people working there were not very nice. It was 10:50 and Amy asked about the chicken salad. She says they don't serve lunch until 11. Amy said it was close enough and the waitress says 10:50 is not 11. Good thing Aden brought his own food and didn't have to deal with them.
We walked over to the Intracoastal to show Aden the boats.
After a quick trip to Target, we finally made it to the beach! For a random Friday in January, it was surprisingly crowded! I guess it helped that it was so nice out. Sorry, people back at home expecting the first big snowfall of the season.
We had Aden on a blanket under an umbrella, which worked out well, except when he would occasionally roll into the sand. Mark and Melissa bought him baby suntan lotion.
I took Aden down to see the Ocean up close. I'm not sure what he was thinking. He just kind of stared at it. I can't wait till we try the pool! We bought him those swimming diapers at Target, along with his first bathing suit!
Can you believe how big he is getting?
Just chillin'
No, you don't want my nose, take Mommy's nose!
The buds resting.
There is nothing like relaxing in the warm Florida sun and sucking your thumb!
We left he beach early to get ready to go to South Beach for dinner. But knowing us, you probably can guess that it took forever and we left a lot later than we had planned. I-95 was barely moving and it took us almost an hour to go 15 miles, back to the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. We still had another 20 or so miles and the traffic was not letting up and Aden was crying he was hungry so we gave and stayed in Ft. Lauderdale. The whole trip to Miami should only have been about 45 minutes. It was frustrating, we all really wanted to go. Oh well. Turns out it was for the best anyway. Aden does not seem comfortable in his new car seat. We found a new grill on Las Olas to eat.
While waiting for the food, I took Aden next door so he could buy something for the special girl back home. You know who you are!
The place had only been open for two months. Amy and I had been to the previous restaurant, which was Italian. It was very good.
Aden, as always, was enjoying himself.
The happy family.
Looking stylin' in his Diesel jeans.
We then went to Grandma's Cafe in Lauderdale by the Sea for some sweets. Aden got another taste of ice cream and of course loved it!
Amy and I went for the banana, chocolate, ice cream, whipped cream crepe! Yummy.
