It's still hard to get everyone to bed. And for some reason harder to keep some of them sleeping. Eli especially has been visiting us all throughout the night. The twins are starting to really love school though so there's that! Let's get to the first day of school already. We got back from the shore late afternoon on Labor Day. The twins had a little time to play outside.
They had a snack while we packed them up for school.
Ariel and the twins were first to go last Tuesday. Of course Ariel was excited. She's always excited about everything.
The twins had no idea what was coming. They just walked with their lovies and Eli with his binky right up the stairs.
Then things changed. Amy had to take Eli's binky which got him crying. The teachers came and grabbed them and shooed us out the door. Look at Noah's stunned face. They were hysterically crying as we headed out. Amy and I were heartbroken.
It helped that Ariel was totally happy.
Ariel's kindergarten class only has 10 kids and she knows most of them.
We headed back to walk with Aden and all the neighbors up to Holland Elementary.
Some of the neighbor kids.
It's nice they let the parents come the first day.
This is the whole school. Only around 200 kids.
Aden's class.
So of course we checked in with the twins teacher a couple of times during the day. The first time we asked her how it was going, she said it was going! Actually the boys did well and stopped crying right after we left. They were smiling when we got back there. It's a really long day for them. About 8:30 to 4. They have never had such a long day doing anything.
Eli was smiling till he saw us then he ran over and cried a bit.
Then he was ok.
Let's get our stuff and leave!
It's always harder for the parens than the kids.
