OK, take a deep breath. Here we go. It's now Monday night and Melissa is sitting here wondering why she is so tired. It's because we are still recovering from Saturday night. What a wild, fun B'nai Mitzvah (more than one, it was brother and sister who are close in age). The party was downstairs so we didn't have far to go.
Look how pretty the girls were!
We were excited to get going! We did our best to look "cocktail chic".
A string quartet.
The Bat Mitzvah girl.
Sushi during the cocktail hour. They also had tables of really cool drinks. I loved the mango mojitos, along with the shots of vodka with raspberries in them.
The theme.
The kids had their own cocktail hour, with games and music and pigs in blankets.
Marc, who is the uncle of the Bar and Bat Mitzvah kids, had a surprise in store for everyone.
Hey Chad!
They let us into the room and we finally figured out what was going on. We were in a really cool nightclub!
It was set up as 5 different lounge areas for the adults and one big area for the kids with the dance floor in the middle.
We were at table 5, which really meant lounge 5 with it's sofas and short and tall tables. Such a cool idea. You just sit wherever you are comfortable. We were in Sandy's family section.
This was our area.
Adam had a blast all night. We always found him in the middle of the action.
The kids came right in and started dancing. This was not your standard B'nai Mitzvah. There was no candle lighting, they did that the night before. There were a couple of dj's inside a booth and several live musicians playing along. It was dance music from beginning to end with no stopping. It really was like being in a club.
Chad and Howard being cool.
The kids area had tables and big beds.
And a little poker for fun.
They could make their own jewelry.
And get picture frames and tattoos!
Adam checking out the kid's section.
It was non-stop dancing the whole night. I was waiting for Coke and Pepsi but it never came.
The kid's bar. I stayed at the adult bar, thank you very much.
Party!
