Skating Champ of Northeast Philly

Saturday afternoon, the three of us went for ice cream. Aden ate most of his cone!

It was my cousin Jen's birthday and she wanted to go skating at Palace! It's been so many years since any of us had been there, we did not know what to expect. We had tag team babysitters. Two teenagers for the price of one! Amy and I had dinner at the Buck Hotel. We sat outside, which was nice until it started to rain. Jen and some of her friends went to Chickie and Pete's. We all met at 10 at Palace. Adult skating started at 10:30.

Amy was a little nervous but excited to get back out there. It's a good thing they had socks available for the girls.

Jen's friends trying to get their skates on.

Just call us the Disco Kids. We actually thought it would be disco music or maybe 80's, which would have been fun and nostalgic but alas no, it was hip hop and rap. The people there were really into it. They all had outfits and their own skates with lights on them!

Jen the birthday girl.

The gang taking a break. We all did well, especially Amy, but it was a little intimidating. The other people were skating really fast, forwards and backwards, weaving in and out.

I don't know why these pictures came out the way they did, but they are pretty cool.

I posted this on Facebook and Jen left a comment that this picture was a first for the 14 years that have been together.

We had a lot of fun! I even think I can get Amy to do it again.
