If You Ever Need House Sitters, You Know Who to Call

It's now Saturday morning and Amy is in the shower and of course I found the hotel's wifi.  We only have a short time before we are being picked up to go to the B'nai Mitzvah service so I will be brief.  Thursday night we had music class.

I always put Aden next to the pile of instruments and he seems lost.

Mommy showed him what to do.

Of course, it goes right in the mouth.  The teacher was really scared of swine flu, so there were plenty of wipes around to clean everything up we all touched and ate.

Friday morning, as I said yesterday, we went to see the school Breezy Point for Aden.  It's really close to our house, about 5 minutes and Amy really likes the program and the sense of family there.  We took Aden to m parent's house and said good bye! This will be Amy's first time away from him.

It's was about a 3 hour drive to Washington, DC.  I can't remember the last time I was here.  The party is at the Ritz Carlton so that's where we are staying.

Of course I couldn't let Amy rest. We took a long walk.  We passed through GWU.

The State Department.

The Lincoln Memorial.

The Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument.

It was cool to be here.  It's been so long.

The Vietnam Memorial.

The World Health Organization.

The Watergate Hotel.

Of course we heard later that several GW students have the swine flu.  I hope we didn't touch anything.  Now I remember, there were some rowdy kids running down the street high fiving everyone and we did it so we did touch possibly infected people.  Everyone stay away from us!

The party bus picked us up at 7.

It was Judy and Steve and Edmund, Elaine, Brianna and Adam on the bus.

We just needed some vodka and music.

It was about a half hour drive to Potomac.  A very pretty drive along a river.  The houses we passed were huge.

Sandy and Elliott's house.

Amy and Sandy.

Out of respect, I'm not going to show any inside shots but let's just say it was a pretty freakin' nice house.  The lucked out with the weather and were able to set up outside for like 100 people for a pre-B'nai Mitzvah Shabbat dinner.

The four kids have access to a secret room.  Amy wanted to check it out but then got scared coming back down.

They did a candle lighting ceremony at the house.  Not really sure why as you usually do it at the party but it was very nice.

Amy and I even got a candle!

We had a great time.  Amy parent's got there a little later so Amy went for a second tour of the house.  I we perfectly comfortable outside with my big glass of vodka.

It was great to see Brianna and Adam again so soon.  They flew from Georgia this time.

Yes, Judy and Elaine stole coffee cups for the ride back.
