It's late Sunday night and I'm too tired to do the huge post that is coming for the party Saturday night. I feel like one of those kids they interview after My Super Sweet 16 on MTV. I really don't know what to say. It was a party like no other. But we will get to that later. Saturday morning, the party bus picked us up at 9 for services. Before we left, we ran to Walgreens and Starbucks. I bought this shirt for my parents!
The synagogue was right near Sandy's house. The party bus driver had a hard time getting there as several of the streets had 3 ton limits. It's a conservative congregation and it looked to be a rather new building. It was very pretty. The kids did a great job as each read several chapters from the Torah.
The had a luncheon after the service.
Melissa hadn't seen the house yet, so we skipped the bus and went back there.
It really was around the corner. We drove but Elliott walked back.
Hey Mel!
We went back to the hotel and changed, then we all scattered. Amy's parent went with a bunch of people to see the White House. Amy and I went with Judy and Melissa to Georgetown. It was a really short walk.
There were some cute shops.
We had fun walking around but needed to go back to get ready. Walking through the lobby, we were suddenly surrounded by a bunch of guys in suits but most with long, wet hair. It took a few moments for us to realize it was the Pittsburgh Penguins. They had just lost their game against the Capitals. Mark, as you can guess, was freaking out, being from Pittsburgh. He tried to play it cool and struck up some causal conversations with them. Then we found out George Bush, Sr. was on Amy's parent's floor. It was quite the happening hotel.
