Out of the Snow

This is how I left things at work Friday. I was not going to miss the snow.

We had a bit of an adventure getting to this point. Of course we were running late to get to the airport. There was a lot of traffic and Aden was getting a little upset so we gave him his milk. That was a mistake. Just as we arrived at 6 for a 7 flight, Aden threw up all over himself and my car. We had no idea what to do. We opened a suitcase in the snow to find clothes for him. We wiped it all up the best we could and decided to make a run for it. You might remember that when we travel, we use Aden's Sit N Stroll which is a car seat/stroller. We needed to bring it even though it was covered in throw up. The car will hopefully turn out ok. The place we left it said they would detail it.

So after all that, the flight was delayed a bit. I should have known better than to book a flight at night which totally interrupts Aden's sleeping and eating patterns. This was also Aden's first flight since he has been mobile. He was good for a while but eventually he got really tired but wouldn't sleep so the crying started. We became "those" people. It took the better part of an hour to calm him down. He finally fell asleep for the last half hour of the flight so then of course we had to wake him. No more night flights!

Saturday morning, we could tell Aden was going to be off all day so we kept things local. There was a carnival across the street so we walked over to check it out.

It took Aden a while to get going.

Mommy found her crab cakes.

Ice cream always cheers him up.

It was only in the 50's at this point but it's never too cold for ice cream.

Guess we didn't need those bathing suits.

Saturday night we attempted to go to Houston's for dinner but Aden was still cranky and we had to leave (after waiting and hour) .

Thankfully, Aden had a good night's sleep and woke up Sunday himself. He even helped empty the dishwasher.

Don't tell me someone drove a Smart car from Canada to Florida.

We took a nice walk along the beach. It was warmer.

Then to the Garlic Festival in Del Ray.

Yes, it really was a garlic festival. They even had garlic ice cream. The food was good but I was paying for it all night.

My mom's aunt Edith and family joined us.

Cousin Debbie had a blast with Aden.

My cousin's Amy and Laura.

My parents watched Aden Sunday night so Amy and I could go to dinner at Taverna Kyma in Boca. We love it there.

Then for dessert at Max's in Mizner. It was nice to have a night away from Aden.
