Amy's mom's friend Cathy moved to Arizona years ago. Amy and Melissa had grown up with her three daughters but have not seen them as much recently. The middle daughter Abby moved here with her boyfriend, now fiance, so he could go to graduate school at Penn. Cathy flew in to visit so we all met up for dinner. It was a nice night so we sat outside at El Vez. Abby's wedding is in Maui at the end of August. How great would it be to go to that? It was nice to meet Abby and catch up with Cathy, who came back to our place to see the wedding proofs.
There is a new baby store on 13th Street. These were in the window.
I must get this!
Wednesday morning I met Amy at the OB. This is her waiting on the table. She was not dilated at all and he really hasn't started to move down yet. The doctor first had trouble finding the heartbeat as he was moving around so much then she had trouble finding the head so she did an ultrasound. So unexpectedly, we got to see him again. The head was in the right spot, pointed down. She estimated the weight at 6 lbs 8 ozs. This is going to be a big baby!
We had lunch next door at Cafe Preya. It was very good.
I went back to work and my mom met Amy at Babies R Us. They bought what they thought might be the essentials we need for the first few weeks. How can something so little need so much?
Wednesday night, Amy and I walked to the Olive Garden to meet Melissa. On Wednesday nights in the Summer, many of the bars have crazy drink specials so the City has hopping. People everywhere. I know, of all the places to go, we chose the Olive Garden but it's a new concept urban Olive Garden, whatever that means, and we could get in without a wait. We actually enjoyed the food. Amy is still feeling good and really enjoyed being able to walk around the City. I guess we have to cherish these moments. I saw this sign at a restaurant while we were wandering.
