School Success

It's Thursday night and what a week it's been.  We came back from the Shore fairly early Monday.  Mark and Melissa made us a very nice dinner then we headed home to pack up the kids for school.  Ariel somehow ended up in our bed again.  She's snapping out of recent sleep problems so we gave in just this one time.  Plus Amy had school too and she needed to get to sleep.
First day of school!  Amy was out the door early so I got the kids up, dressed, fed and packed their lunches.
I dropped off Aden first.  He saw Mrs. Meryl across the parking lot and ran to her.  Her missed her so much.
Kindergarten is way more serious.  Aden went in and tackled his friends he hadn't seen in 3 months.  Mrs. Helen came over and said Aden, when you come in, you put away your things and wash your hands.  I understand she wants to establish order and set rules but come on, give the kids a couple of minutes to reconnect.
Then it was time for Ariel.

Her backpack is cute but so small nothing fits in it.
She has to carry her lunch bag.  It was really hard to pack a lunch.  She doesn't eat sandwiches.  She's been pretty much surviving on pizza and fries.  Both of which aren't really possible as the bags sit in the fridge for 4 hours.  They actually suggested soup in a thermos.  I tried that Wednesday.
 Time to go to class!
You guys may remember Ms. Jill from when Aden was in Jen's class 3 years ago.
Ariel walks into the room, sits at the table, picks up the crayon, looks back at me and says "bye dad!"  I left with a tear in my eye!
Amy and I met at school around 4:30.  Ariel was excited to see us.
The teachers said she had a great day and only asked for us once.
But then she was like put me down, I want to keep playing!
 Then we picked up Aden.
 Aden's kindergarten room.
Ariel has some weird fascination with washing her hands now.
Neither kid wanted to leave so I stayed so they could keep playing.  There is Aden with Ben, Finn and Jack.
 Sammie took care of Ariel.
Wednesday we were worried again.  We were told the second day was actually the hardest but we had nothing to fear.  She did great again.
She's already learning the other kid's names.
Again, I stayed around and let her play.  She's starting to recognize Aden's friends.  Hey Jake!
 And Jack.
The girls grabbed Ariel and ran away with her.

 Fun.
Thursday we went to our first service at Shir Ami.  It was a very hard decision but we left Beth Am where we both grew up because Shir Ami is a lot closer and we want Aden to meet kids who go to Council Rock.
I bought Ariel this dress.  Amy thinks it makes her look like she's ready for Easter!
I put this picture on Facebook and a lot of people seemed to like it.
We knew a few people there.  The service was nice but a bit too serious for little kids.  They should have had the kids up and dancing and singing. (like at Beth Am, tears)
Ariel of course would not sit still.  She ran around and ate the whole time!

 Happy New Year!
Dinner Thursday night was at Maggios.
Ariel liked the matzah ball soup.
It's been a while since we got a picture of the four of us.
 Hey Marc!
It was a  nice night.  Friday, the kids are in school but Amy is off.  Lucky girl!
