Hawaii!!! Kauai!!!

Here we go! It's late Tuesday night and I gave in and paid the $15 for the internet. We are having an awesome time and, believe it or not, we are still talking! These updates should be pretty regular from now on.

We didn't mind the 13 hour flights.

Kauai

Yes, we got lei'd when we arrived at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. (In Poipu on the bottom right)

Amy's discovers the Pacific Ocean.

The view from our room. If you squint really hard, you can see the ocean. For those of you that have been here, our room is about a half hour walk from the lobby. This place is huge!

We arrived about 3. It's 6 hours behind here, so by the time dinner came around, we were so tired.

I was wide awake at 4 am. That sucked. She slept of course. I wandered around outside, the pools go on forever, and called Michele - thanks for keeping me company. Finally got Amy up and we drove to the North Shore of the island. It is a couple of hours to the end of the road at Ke'e Beach, past Princeville and Hanalei. This was a light house on the way.

For Jason and Rachel.

The falls from Fantasy Island.

We stopped at the Princeville Resort. Pretty amazing hotel, with even better views.

The road was long and windy, with many one lane bridges and great views.

Along the way, we would see cars parked on the side of the road next to trees. We finally stopped and followed a path down to a beautiful beach. There are hidden beaches everywhere.

We finally reached Ke'e Beach around 3. (we left at 9). It was literally the end of the road and suprisingly, very crowded. We snorkled a little. I think the fish were scared away by all the people. We finally got to lay down and rest. The weather has been perfect. (top left of the map - the area to the left of there is the Na Pali Coast. It's only accessible by boat, helicopter or one long trail that takes 8 hours each way. We are going to take a zodiac boat there tomorrow)

Hanalei

You wonder why they have rainbows on their license plates.
