Surprise!

We will get to Mark's surprise party in a moment.  Friday night, Amy and I had dinner at a Rabbi's house in the Main Line.  Like I said, no pictures, but I will try and describe it the best I can.  The rabbi was very young, probably 30's and had three boys.  The boys were between 4 and 8 and had tons of energy.  Amy kept a close watch on the boys.  I think she's getting a little nervous.  They were sweet though.  Dinner was good, then we headed over to the Erlbaum's for dessert.  It was packed there.  Well over 200 people.  Two girls we know, Nisa and Lauren, are very pregnant.  For Lauren, her second.  It was cute with the three girls lined up.  Big, bigger and biggest.  (Amy was the smallest of the three).  We saw so many old and new faces.

Saturday we had Mark's surprise 25th!  His parents came in from Pittsburgh Friday with his brother David.  Mark had no idea what was going on.  It's been hard to keep the secret.  So, we had about 30 people at La Stalla in Newtown waiting for Mark and his parents.  He thought he was just meeting us for dinner.  Of course he got totally lost, and they finally arrived a half hour late.  Here is his face as he came in...

Amy and I finally got to meet Mark's cousin Michael, his lovely wife Emily and their twin boys.  We had heard so much about them it was about time.  We had fun talking all night.

Mel's got a new  look.  She looks so sophisticated!

The twins with grandpa.

Mark's friends were representing.  They knew ahead of time the present we got for Mark and kept thanking us.

The twins love Mark.  They wouldn't get off his lap the whole night.  Very cute.

The Browns home from PSU.

My parents.

Mark's other cousins.

He wanted to see the baby!  He even lifted up her shirt to look.  Very cute.

Three babes!

Who is that handsome guy in the jacket?

Amy and my sister.

The boys helped blow out the candles.

Me and Alex.  Still waiting for that invite to a sorority party!

Alex brought us the cutest baby clothes and book by Joe Paterno from Penn State for our future baby.  Look for him this Summer on the Margate beach with his PSU t-shirt! Do they have some great genes in this family or what!?!

Melissa is probably so relieved the night turned out so nice.

Mark's brother David.

This was the kid's table!  My grandmother and Beverly and Sol.

Always the best part of the night for the birthday boy.  The boys helped open the gifts.  One was even cleaning up.  I think after Mark saw my family's gift, the rest of the night was a blur.

Now that is a look of pure joy!
