So Friday night, Amy and I had Shabbat dinner at the Erlbaum's house in Merion. It was a lovely evening. The smallest dinner we ever had there. Usually it's a sit down dinner for about 30 or 40. This time it was Jon and Jess and their parents and two other couples. Jon gave a very inspirational talk while we ate. The kids were cute. Jon and Jess have 4 boys under 6 and one of the other couples had two kids. We stayed late talking and eating.
Saturday, we went to King of Prussia. It was our 1st attempt at maternity clothes shopping and we didn't know what to expect. First we went to Motherhood. Amy was not impressed with the quality of the clothes, although they were inexpensive, but the girls there gave her a lot of good advice. She said, "where is the designer stuff?" They said Pea in a Pod. So there we went. Talk about going from one extreme to the other. In the front of the store where clothes by Diane von Furstenberg. $200-300! Then we walk over to the jean section. Sevens . Ag's. True Religions. All about $250! Now, I'm all for a nice pair of jeans but these are only going to be worn for a few months. She did get a pair of jeans and a couple of tops. The stuff was really cute. In the dressing room they give you a strap on belly to see how the clothes will fit when you get bigger. She wouldn't take a picture of me wearing it.
Amy's parents met us at Maggianos. We were walk in's at 6. Told us 1 hour. We sat at 7:45! Good meal as always. They try and talk you into the family style there. It never makes any sense. It was like $50 for the 4 of us to share some dishes. The family style is $25 per person, so would have been been over $100. And we had plenty of leftovers too.
