I'm way behind, so I'm just going to do this in chunks. Amy and I are in Vegas! We flew out Saturday morning. It was a long 5 hour flight. Seemed to go on forever. We watched The Hangover on my computer. Very funny. We totally love Southwest but I wish the pilot would tell us where we are sometimes. Here's some snow!
Grand Canyon!
What do you think this is?
Always cool landing in Vegas and seeing the casinos.
Did you ever notice that they seem really close but the cab ride is like $40 and takes forever?!?
Our room at the Mirage before we destroyed it. You see, we are rockers!
The view.
We got in just in time to run to dinner at Grand Lux Cafe then go to see the Jersey Boys at the Palazzo. I saw the show here last year and Amy never let me forget it, so I was nice and took her. It was still good the second time. Amy loved it.
The Palazzo Shops which lead into the Venetian Shops.
I was here last year this week and it was empty. Today, Vegas was like Disney World on Christmas. It was packed! It was hard to walk on the sidewalks. There was a big fight but that couldn't explain all the people.
Sunday morning we decided to take a ride out to the Hoover Dam. I figured it would be easy to get a rental car, so I didn't reserve one. I went to the Dollar in the Mirage lobby at 7:30 am (I saw girl in their party dresses just coming in?!?) and they were already sold out as was every other casino nearby. Finally we lucked out, one had just been returned at the Wynn so we hiked over there to get our cute little Mercedes.
It's a short ride. Less than 30 miles. On the way we stopped in Boulder City at a cute little diner for breakfast.
The pancakes were really good. They wouldn't give up their secret.
It was in the 40's! Brrrrr!
OK, that's enough for now. The Dam and Le Reve will be coming soon!
