The Wedding Crashers!

I will tell you about the weekend craziness in another post but now I will talk about the unexpected wedding.  Amy and I are both friends with Melanie.  Amy went to high school with her and I worked with her at the City Law Department.  We were happy when she met Gregg.  They make a really cute couple.  We have gone out with them and run into them often.  We were not invited to the wedding, which we totally understood.  We had to make those same tough decisions last year.  I called Melanie on Friday to wish her luck and give her our love when I suddenly remembered the people that cancelled last minute from our wedding and how hard it was to find replacement people who would not get offended at being invited last minute.  I mentioned to her that if there were any last minute cancellations, we would love to come.  Totally unrelated to this, Amy went to a maternity store after work Friday and bought a black dress to wear to my parent's anniversary party.  Saturday morning we were busy cleaning out the baby's room when Melanie called and said someone couldn't come, would we like to?  Of course we wanted to and Amy had a dress and my tux was clean, so we were in!

Amy was amazing all night.  Had tons of energy, danced and socialized.  People were really impressed.  Plus she looked beautiful!

The Crystal Tea Room above the Wannamaker Building in Center City Philadelphia. It might be the nicest room in the whole City.  Melanie always wanted to get married there.  We could have walked there but Amy is really pregnant and it was raining so we took a taxi.  It was a big crowd.

Gregg and his parents.

Melanie's niece Madison.  So cute.

The beautiful bride and her parents.

Rabbi Pearlstein from Ohev Shalom has known Melanie since she was little.  The ceremony was very moving.

The cocktail hour was in the atrium.  We used to have parties in here when I worked for the City.  Very pretty room.

Everyone loved Amy's belly and had tons of questions for her.

Amy and Caren.

Laurie and her new fiance Gabe and Stacie.

Caren and Rob were married by our rabbi the weekend before us.  Their anniversary is tomorrow and ours is next Tuesday.  We also used the same videographer, who we had the same problems with.  They just got their video, we have not.  I also went to high school with Caren.   They are a really sweet couple and we are going to hang out with them next week.

The cake was pretty.

The ketubah.

The first dance!

The band was Jellyroll.  They were amazing!  They have played at the White House twice!  They were rocking the whole night.

There were a ton of people there and the dance floor was always full.  I love watching brides dance.  It's like they are floating.

Some shots of the pretty flowers.

The cake was great.  I took some to go!

At the end of the night, they danced onstage with the band.

Amy and Melanie's mom, who was so happy we came!

We were so lucky we got to go.  We had such a great time.  The food the music  the flowers the people were all amazing.  We wish Melanie and Gregg and lifetime of happiness and joy and lots of babies!  Have fun in Mexico!
