Disneyland Day 2

It's Sunday night and sadly the Eagle's season has come to an end.  At least they got further than the Cowboys and Giants and at least the Patriots and Saints are out also.  Oh well.  Maybe a few players will be healthy next year.  Back to Disney.

Day 2 we headed to Disneyland at 7:15 or so.  Our intention was to go on the Star Wars ride which you cannot get a Fastpass for and always has a long wait.  The lines were huge!  Again they let us in early.
We ran across the whole park to the long line that had already formed for the ride.  Even though the park was open, the ride did not open till around 8.
 The wait wasn't too bad.

 Patiently waiting.
I got to check out the Millennium Falcon a little closer.  It's totally amazing.

The ride is so new, they don't have all lines built yet, so we had to follow tape on the ground.
They give you cool things to look out while you wait.

 Inside the Falcon.

We saw the new movie a few days ago and they were playing the game here!
The ride was pretty cool.  There are 6 seats in the cockpit.  Aden and Ariel were the pilots.  Aden controlled up and down.  Ariel controlled left and right.  The twins were the gunners.  Amy and I were the engineers.  We all had jobs to do.  I just remember Aden yelling at Ariel the whole time.  You can see videos of the ride on Youtube.  I did take a video but it's too long to post.
Walking back through the Falcon to get out.  The ride was fun but I felt a little queasy.
Ariel and I tried the blue bantha milk.  It was pretty good.
We did a little shopping then headed out.

There was no wait at Splash Mountain so even though the little ones were not thrilled, that's where we headed.

We got a bit wet and it was so cold.  The twins did not like the ride.
This is one amazing picture.  It's a shame you can't see Ariel's face.  All smiles.
We climbed through Tarzan's Tree House.

 Great view.

Jungle Cruise.  We had about 1/2 hour wait.
That's always a fun ride.  The boat driver told some pretty funny jokes.
I got us a fastpass for It's a Small World so we ran over there.
I don't know why Amy was so anxious to get on this ride.  It's a bit annoying.
It starts outside, which is kind of cool.
It was different than usual.  It was holiday themed with lots of Christmas songs.  We got stuck on many rides and didn't mind that much, but this is not the ride to get stuck on.

Well, we got stuck.  We got really stuck.  It was about 1/2 hour.  Thankfully, they turned off the music.  They had to come around and pull the boats over so we could get out.  The upside was they gave each of us a super fastpass that we could use any time on any ride.
 Lunchtime!  The River Belle Terrace.
We had to wait a bit and it was expensive and just ok.
Then we split up.  Amy took Ariel to become a princess and also took the twins.  Aden and I headed back to Star Wars.
Aden had two appointments.  The first was to build a droid at the Droid Depot.
Aden had to pick whether to do R2D2 or BB8.  He decided on BB8.  They gave him a basket with a list of parts and we headed to the conveyor belt of parts.  So many choices on colors.
Then we went to a workstation to assemble it.

He chose black and red.  It was fun getting this home.

Aden and his baby.
I tried the green milk.  The blue was a bit better.
Now that's a cool costume.  Who has $5000 I can borrow?
While we were busy, Ariel was becoming a princess.
 She loves to be pampered.

 Here she is!
 I love the reaction.
Aden patiently waited for his adventure.  He was going to build a lightsaber!
This really was an amazing experience.  Even Yoda made an appearance.
He had to pick the crystal that would power his lightsaber and provide the color.  He was planning on picking red but he said the green spoke to him.
There were lots of choices to make.

 It's almost ready!
There was a whole ceremony for the lighting of the swords.

 Such a cool pic.
 There's our new jedi!
I actually got him to pose.  Now at this point, we were supposed to head back to the hotel to rest before dinner at 8, but you know what...we stayed and did more...
