Fasting for Yom Kippur

Last Monday was Yom Kippur.  Here is a sneak peak of the day.  

We took Ariel and the twins to synagogue early.  

The service was packed and only so so.  I don't like how it's more like a show now.  Not very interactive.  We just sit and watch.  

No rain!

Such a handsome group.  

I took Eli Halloween shopping.  We went to Lowes and Home Depot.  

He was blown away.  These things are getting so tall.  

Back at home, everyone came to break the Yom Kippur fast.

Not that many people besides me actually fasted.  

We pigged out!

It was a nice day so the kids could play outside.

Of course a mahjong game broke out.  

Todd came after the last services.  

It was a beautiful night.  

 

Leaky Roof

Here's a preview of last Sunday.  

Amy had the girls over early to play mahjong.  

I took Eli out to lunch.

I got a yummy steak sandwich.  

Then it was back to Spirit Halloween.  

Eli could love here.  

I love the bland names so they don't mess with any copyrights.

We love that Vicky is one of the guys.  

That night, Amy and I went to Kol Nidre services.  It was our first with the new rabbi.  The service was just ok.  We didn't love it.  It was pouring when we got out.  

I had to run for the car and got soaked!

We got home to a leaking roof!

This is Monday's post.  Last Saturday morning, Ariel cheered for a football game.  I chatted with some of the cheer moms.

I still love that we are there to cheer for the cheerleaders and not the football players.

Maybe I shouldn't have gotten Eli a fake chain saw.

Poor Ariel.  

Noah had his first soccer game of the season.  

They played well.  

Long lost Dani!  We haven't seen her in years.  She's the one that worked with Ariel on cheer.  She's now in medical school.  

Chainsaw boy is back.  

Boo!  We went with Dori and Felice and the boys to dinner at Bowman's Tavern.  Fun crowd not great food.
