Last Wednesday, we had another adventure. We had to pack up and get out the door early. We headed to the airport.
The airport had lots of fun shopping but we didn't have much time. Eli had a nutritious breakfast. He loved the potato chips!
We flew an hour to Sicily. We could see Mt Etna the volcano through the clouds.
So cool!
Landing in Catania.
We got picked up and drove an hour to Taormina.
So pretty.
Driving up the mountain to the town.
We made it!
So this was something we really didn't think about. Cars aren't allowed in most of Taormina. We were dropped of as close as possible to our AirBNB but there were about 50 steps to go up and we had a ton of luggage! Aden and I got a work out.
The view from our house! It had 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and was right on the main street.
The twins loved their room.
This was our path to the main street.
We made it! It was amazing! So many great stores and restaurants.
We found a place to eat.
Amy loved her soup!
A candy store.
We explored.
We took the older two back to the house to rest.
Amy and I and the twins went on another excursion.
At the top of the town was an ancient Greek theater. Yes, the Greek's controlled Sicily for a time.
We had a tour guide to take us around.
This is thousands of years old and is still used today!
It was pouring!
Nice views from up there.
You could see the mainland of Italy.
And a storm coming!
The volcano!
Back into town.
The twins wanted to rest.
We ate dinner right next to the house.
This was the room all the way up top.
There was good wifi. Lucky twins.
Have a great weekend!
