Everyone enjoying the blizzard? It's Sunday night. We haven't done much today. Just stayed huddled inside. Last Saturday, we also had some snow. I took Ariel and Lilly skiing at Bear Creek Mountain. Ariel had never skied before and was very excited. I'm a bad dad. None of my kids have every skied. It started snowing while we were driving.
It's only a little over an hour away but it was slow going. The roads got covered quickly and I got scared. We were slipping and sliding. We finally made it. Phew.
There wasn't any parking so I made my own spot. It was a long walk.
We rented skis. We were told it can take a long time but it was actually fast.
Here we go! We had a couple hours until their lesson so we headed for the bunny slope. This was Ariel's first time on skis!
It was snowing hard!
The bunny slope was not steep enough. We had to push hard to get going.
It was annoying having to take the skis off each time we went up the magic carpet.
Ariel was having a hard time on the bunny slope. She even wanted to give up. We decided to head to a green circle because then you can leave the skis on and take the ski lift and it's a little more steep so easier to get going.
First time on a lift!
Of course she fell getting off.
Not a big mountain but close and fun.
Ariel all the sudden did amazing and she loved it! They even decided to skip the lesson because they were having so much fun.
Great day!
It felt so good to take those boots off.
We deserved some waffles and ice cream.
I wore my gym belt. I burned 2000 calories!
We headed back. The roads were way better. Luckily we had an easy night planned. Nancy next door invited the neighbors over for a hot pot night! The kids all hung.
Time to eat!
Lots of things to cook.
We pigged out!
Then it was time for cookies!
The neighbor big boys.
Luckily it was an easy walk home.
