Last Saturday, we were up early again so we decided to take a hike! There are lots of places to go but we were told Bronson Canyon was family friendly. It was a quick drive and we got parking right by the trails.
So many ways to go. We picked one that was 2 miles to a lookout point near the Hollywood sign.
It was very uphill. Pretty scenery.
Amy and I are in pretty good shape but this was a hard hike.
This tree had eyes!
We sadly only made it 1/2 mile. Noah wanted to keep going but we were done.
We headed back down.
There were lots of dogs everywhere. Many without leashes.
We drove back to Hollywood and had lunch at Mel's Diner.
Walking back from lunch we saw the walk of fame.
Then I dropped off Amy to get her hair done and I took the twins to the Grove.
We saw all of Ariel's favorite stores.
She really should have come. She was stuck in a rainy, cold Margate.
The twins went right for the candy.
The Farmer's Market is awesome! Too bad I wasn't really hungry.
Amy took and Uber and met us. It was packed there.
The Apple Store was beautiful.
Meanwhile, in Margate, Ariel and Emily were cuddling with Honey.
That night, we had Jake's Bar Mitzvah. It was just a few blocks from the hotel. It was half indoors and half outdoors.
I like the way people were dressed.
First we had the service. I was surprised by how in depth the service was. There was a guy with a guitar who sang along with the rabbi. It was lovely.
Then it was happy hour time. There's a guy from Philly that started a soft pretzel catering company.
Lots of drinks.
They were making fresh pizzas, burgers and sushi.
The kids played inside.
The girls made charm bracelets.
Amy and Jessica looking great!
My cousin Amanda was there too. It was great to catch up with her.
Here's Jake!
Up in the chair!
The proud parents.
Dancing.
With cousins Eric and Jennie.
Fun night!
