Aden and Ashley

It's late Thursday night and we are watching Project Runway. We are relaxing from a long, fun day. This morning we didn't get ready to go for a walk until about 9. At 7, it was bearable, but at 9, it was way too hot.

We didn't make it very far.

It was so quiet. Usually it's packed. It's a very popular public beach. I guess people are at work and school and it's just way too hot to be outside.

We loaded up the car and headed to the mall, the only sensible place to be in this heat.

We passed through downtown Boca Raton. The wedding Saturday night is around here somewhere.

He's really digging this forward facing thing. Of course now we are bugging him and tickling his feet at every red light. He may want to be turned around again.

Back to my favorite mall in the world, Town Center.

We did some damage a Bloomingdales while Aden practiced his walking. He walks the stroller around!

Mommy and Daddy are fun to shop with!

Then, we drove to Coral Springs to see Erica, Mike and Ashley and to meet the new baby Maya. Aden immediately fell in love with Ashley, who turned 8 today.

He followed her around, kept giving her hugs and laughed whenever she did something. It was too cute.

Ashley is going to be a great big sister. So much patience and loves to play with babies.

Amy couldn't wait to hold baby Maya, who was born 2 days before Aden's birthday so she is about 7 weeks old. Of course we don't remember Aden being this small. She was cute and kept smiling at me!

I think I'm ready for another!

After hanging, we went out to eat.

Momma Erika and the beautiful baby girl.

Yes Aden, that was you not that long ago. We had a fun night, then headed back, with Aden babbling the whole time and swinging his feet. He loves that they are not jammed up against the back seat anymore!

Taverna Kyma

It's around 7 am and I'm up with Aden. I'm letting Amy sleep in. Poor thing has to start getting up at 6 for school on Monday, so I thought I would do a short post. Here was Aden last night quietly watching Baby Boost so mommy and daddy could get ready.

For the first time Aden is facing forward in the car! I wonder what he was thinking having the world come at him at 60 mph!

We went to our favorite Greek place for dinner. Taverna Kyma in Boca Raton. Aden was trying new things but making faces the whole time.

Amy loves the stewed green been side dish. I will have to make that for her. The lamb chops were yummy.

Mommy rode with Aden in the back just to make sure he was ok with the new seating position.

A quick stop at Publix.

So much to look at here!

For some reason, when we drove the rental car home, we didn't really how absolutely filthy it was. My hands were sticking to the steering wheel as I was driving to dinner. After Aden fell asleep, I drove back to the airport, only about 15 minutes away, and Enterprise was nice enough to give me a new car.

Early Thursday morning. Best time to be outside. Not too hot and a a nice breeze off the ocean.

You can make out the ocean in the background.

We have no plans yet for today. Hopefully, it's not too hot. The space shuttle is supposed to go off and midnight tonight. That would be crazy if I was here for a launch again. The one in March was so cool.

Florida!

In the car on the way to the airport. We were worried how Aden would be but he did great! First, he didn't seem to mind the Sit N Stroll car seat. He didn't like it that much back in March.

Waiting at Southwest. The flight was only about half full!

Aden made friends with all the neighbors and even scored some cookies.

Rockin' out!

A little walking.

Finally asleep! We landed around 11. Got a hybrid car, got lunch then all took naps.

Mark's Jeans Will Never be the Same

It was a pretty crazy weekend. The weather was better than anticipated, we did make it to the beach a couple of times but most importantly, Mark and Melissa were able to take their engagement pictures. They were supposed to meet the photographer at 10. It was pouring all morning and even past that time but we had hope and went out to scout locations. We ended up at the pier in Ventnor as the skies cleared.

Hurricane Bill was off the coast and at high tide, there was no beach. The water went up to the street. For a brief time during the flooding, the water subsided and we were able to get on the beach with the photographer Sarah DiCiccio and make some magic!

The pictures are for Melissa and Mark to share so I will just give a behind the scenes taste.

Mel put this one up on Facebook, she likes it.

Mel looked amazing...

and Ventnor never looked so cool!

The rest of Saturday we just kind of hung out.

Saturday night, we had the same teenager babysitting for the third week in a row. She's a nice girl but this time she had a challenge. She had to put Aden to sleep. It took her about three times, which isn't bad. The four of us went to Chickie and Pete's for dinner then saw 500 Days of Summer. It was my choice. I know the girls like romantic comedies and I thought this would be one I could stomach. It was supposed to be different, a little more quirky and it was. I did enjoy it but Amy didn't. The ending upset her but it shouldn't have, it all worked out well for all the characters.

Sunday was another great beach day.

Still a little hazy. The was trash all over the beach from the floods.

Aden played with Mark...

until he got tired.

Aden is doing great getting from on place to another on his feet.

Sunday night, there was a free concert on the bay in Margate just a few blocks away from us.

Aden fell asleep, so Amy's parents stayed back and Amy and I walked over.

We shared blankets with Adam and Ellen.

It was the Gin Blossoms! They were good. We knew so many songs.

After the concert and before the fireworks, we walked over to a very crowded Dairy Bar to get some ice cream.

The fireworks were pretty good even though they were short. We packed up and went to bed for our early drive back.
