Last Tuesday, we got up early and had a really nice breakfast. This is the old ballroom at the hotel. So pretty.
The breakfast was great. Especially since it was free!
Lots of yummy treats.
The weather ended up being pretty nice all week. Low 60's and dry. This was the only time we had a little rain.
We walked and scooted a few blocks to get to Charing Cross Tube Station.
The kids first time in a subway. They were excited.
Yes, they scooted through the station.
You may know I have bath motion sickness. I was not expecting to feel as bad as I did on the subway.
Noah wanted to know all about the different lines. The kids knew all about "Mind the Gap." They announce because there is sometimes a large gap between the trains and the platform.
We made it to Paddington Station.
Still a little damp.
What a pretty place.
This is where the Paddington Bear stories started. We were about to go on a tour of the shooting locations for the three Paddington Bear movies.
There he is!
The twins know Paddington Bear well. The rest of us a little bit.
We met up with our tour guide and he took us through the station and pointed out locations of scenes from the movies.
The Paddington Bench.
We then walked through the adjacent neighborhood.
There is number 1 looking handsome.
The houses were big and beautiful.
I looked them up. There was one for sale for about $12 million!
The canals run through the neighborhood. So pretty.
We saw some more filing locations.
We all hopped on a bus and took a short ride.
We ended up on Portobello Road.
So cool!
This place was in the movie too.
There was a modeling shoot going on.
We found a cafe and had a nice lunch. Even bunny shaped pizza.
Then we took a taxi back to the River Thames. We passed by Abraham Lincoln.
And Big Ben.
We crossed over into South London to see the London Eye.
It was so big in person.
There was a huge line. It was packed but we had tickets to get on quicker. We had really no wait. They took a picture of us as we were getting on.
Here we go!
Nice view as we started going up.Amy dropped some Cheerios.
For some reason it was very funny.
We noticed a playground below.
The views got better as we went up.
The Shard! The tallest building in Europe.
We made it to the top.
Great views!
Buckingham Palace!
We got down and Ariel found strawberries and chocolate.
Eli found a stuffed Big Ben! With the real Big Ben in the background!
Of course we went to the playground.
The twins loved it!
Love this pic!
They did what they do at playgrounds here. They gathered all the kids and made plan. It was so cool to see them interacting with the British kids. They would have stayed on these boats all day.
It was a short walk back to the hotel.
A selfie on the bridge.
The doormen were great! We loved just hanging with them.
I took Aden and Ariel shopping.
I bought this jacket at All Saints for next winter.
Ariel knew where she wanted to go.
Brandy Melville. Look at that line!
No way she wasn't waiting.
While she was shopping, Aden and I wandered around. We found a food market.
We got Ariel and headed back to the hotel through a very crowded Covent Garden.
I took the twins to McDonalds while the others went out for Greek food.
They loved it! Said it tasted much better than home. It's because they use real ingredients in Europe not the artificial stuff we get at home. Funny thing is, for the same reason, Ariel did not like her usual drinks at Starbucks because she prefers the fake stuff over the real!
Amy and the twins went to see Wicked.
I walked with Aden and Ariel to our theater.
A line to get in.
We saw MJ about Michael Jackson. It was great!
We stopped for wings after.
