Rita's Water Ice: Not Worth the Wait

It's Sunday night and we are watching Desperate Housewives. We had a pretty fun weekend. Friday night we had an interesting crowd for dinner. I picked up my grandmother. My sister, Amy's mom and Cooper the dog all came over. We even had a surprise appearance by Marshall.

Aden is still not sure about Cooper.

Cooper was a good boy though. He listens and does what he is told already!

Aden and I chilling in front of the tv.

We video chatted with my cousin in Boston. My grandmother still doesn't quite understand that Lucas wasn't really there. She kept trying to touch him.

Such a great invention.

Saturday, we picked up Melissa and drove into the City. We were excited. It had been a while since we were able to wander around. It was a perfect day. 75 and sunny. I still have a resident sticker so we were able to park for free on the street. We shopped a little on Walnut then met Lauren at Continental. Aden did not want to sit so it was a quick meal.

Matching credit cards, how cute.

A little more shopping after lunch. Aden liked the bracelets. Mommy got jeans.

Rittenhouse Square was jumping.

We ran into Dave, Danielle and Jaime.

Aden found a pretty bird.

We saw a few people we know. This was one of those times that we really miss living in the City. (later that night, there was a riot on South Street right near our old house so maybe the suburbs aren't so bad after all)

Jaime is almost 4 months and is getting big!

Ok, time to leave, Aden needs his afternoon nap.

The first day of Spring means free Rita's water ice. Saving a few dollars is so not worth waiting for hours.

The line went all the way around the block. Aden slept on the way home, which took about 40 minutes. He wouldn't go back to sleep when we got home so he was working on very little nap time so we put him to bed early and watched 17 Again. Amy has a crush on Zac Efron.

Elmo on the Floor

It's Friday and you will be spared music class pictures from last night. Amy took Aden by herself and without the camera. She said he had fun. Yesterday, I picked up Aden from school and they were still eating snack. What are you looking at Duncan?

Happy to see daddy!

He likes to carry his lunch bag by himself.

After we put him to bed, we heard a lot of noise. We went to his room and found everything that was in his crib on the floor.

Yes, very funny ,now go back to bed!

Cool Dude

Aden had a good day at school yesterday. He loved the pizza. When we got home, he wanted to sit at his table and read.

What is that mommy?

It was too nice to stay in, so we went for a walk. It was sunny so we dug out Aden's sunglasses, which he actually wore.

Our little movie star!

We only made it as far as the neighbor's swing set.

We sent him by himself a few times on the big slide. Scared us but he had fun.

Some of our friends that live out back.

The back of our houses.

OK, let's head back and roast some chicken!

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

Last night it was finally warm enough to barbeque! I went over to Superfresh and picked up some propane, some filets and some shrimp. Yummy. While I was gone, Amy took Aden on the neighbor's swing set. Aden really loves the big slide. Amy had to slide with him as he is still too small to go himself.

The trampoline is fun too!

Bathing beauty.

Green for St. Patty's Day! They are having pizza today so daddy didn't have to make Aden's lunch for once!

By the way, in case you were wondering, Cooper is a Golden Retriever who is already retrieving things!

Cooper Has My Ball!!!

Knee Dancing

Aden Meets Cooper

Cooper Harley Brown

Meet Cooper!!! Amy's parents picked him up Saturday. Sunday morning, we woke up with still no power. It was cold and dark so we packed up Aden and headed over to meet the puppy. Cooper is 9 weeks old and huge already! He's really sweet and seems to love us all already.

Cooper couldn't get enough of Aden's toys.

Melissa hasn't left Cooper's side since Saturday. (and it's now Tuesday).

He sleeps a lot.

Aden was not so sure about Cooper. He was saying "Cooper" and "puppy" a lot though.

Jenny and Chloe also are not thrilled about the new addition yet.

Cooper really wants Jenny to play with him.

He's not big into staying in the crate so he's pretty much all over the house.

Aden couldn't wait for some cake. The power went on around 6 pm Sunday, about 25 hours after it went out. We drove home. Besides every light being on, everything seemed ok. We threw out the dairy stuff and had a regular night.

In The Dark

What a wild and crazy weekend. First, the weather was unbelievable. I think we had a hurricane come through Friday night and Saturday. Trees down everywhere, no power (more on that later), flooding. Wild. Of course a little bad weather wasn't going to keep us from having some fun. Friday night, we drove to Manayunk during rush hour in the driving rain with Melissa and Mark to pick out flowers for the wedding. After dinner at Bella Trattoria, we drove into the City to celebrate Ashley's birthday. That is Ashley in the red.

We met a big group of people at Jolly's the piano bar on Chestnut. We had a great time although the piano players weren't the best and it was so loud we could barely hear each other.

They did sing to Ashley though.

Saturday morning, I had to go back to music class to pick up Aden's diaper bag, which we left Thursday night. Since we were there already, we stayed for the class.

It was Aden's nap time so he was a bit mellow, but he had fun.

That night, Jaime and Abby came with the kids and about 10 minutes after they arrived, the power went out! They decided to stay for dinner anyway. After a quick flurry of activity looking for candles and flashlights, we settled in to eat. The kids had fun running around in the dark. All the following pictures were taken in the dark with the help of the flash. Aden kept busy watching Elmo videos on my iPod.

It was quite a scene with the kids running around and us trying to serve, eat and cleanup dinner. We forgot the garbage disposal was electric so the sink got blocked up pretty quickly. The gas fireplace kept us warm.

Kids will have fun no matter what the circumstances.

We went to bed in the dark with PECO's latest prediction of service at 4:30 a.m.
