Aden Kicks Butt in Bubble Hockey

So we had Aden's one year checkup today. It was pretty traumatic for everyone involved, although there were some laughs. I will get to that in a minute.

Sunday, Aden stayed with Amy's mom and Amy and I headed to the beach. It was a beautiful day and we just sat in our big group of Adam's family, Ellen's family, Judy, Steve and Alex. No walks. No socializing, just laying in our chairs and relaxing. This was something new...

Mark's family came in from Pittsburgh. We all met up at the PF Changs in Marlton, NJ. It was the first time they got the see the newly engaged couple and the ring!

Aden did his job entertaining everyone.

We ate a ton of food and caught up.

Always wants to show off his belly.

Mark's parents are going to want to some grandkids soon!

We got an awesome surprise when we finally got home. Adam and Kasia put down a floor in Aden's playroom!

Amy and Aden came to the office to pick me up to go to the doctor but first Aden wanted to challenge the guys to some bubble hockey!

The video part of my camera stopped working so I missed some great stuff here. He was actually trying to play. He was pulling and twisting the players where the puck was!

Maybe I can make some money with him!

The one year old the and 80 year old chillin'. They were swapping war stories and lady stories.

Finally into town for possibly our last visit with Dr. McNett. We really should find someone in the suburbs. We still have the condo for a few more days so we parked there.

We had a nice lunch at More Than Just Ice Cream. Aden of course loved the ice cream but he did eat almost all his grilled cheese first.

Aden was busy entertaining everyone in the waiting room. He doesn't stop talking for a second!

So it was bittersweet. We love Dr. McNett and will miss him. He said Aden was doing really well. His height and weight were both around the 50th percentile. Our boy is still average! He said we didn't have to cut Aden off from the formula now but that we should be phasing it out over the next three months. Then came the shots. He had chicken pox and Hep A. Then MMR. We know all about the controversy around this shot but we decided to let him have it. It's an important group of vaccines and we trust our doctor. Aden took it like a man. Only cried for a few minutes then was quickly cheered up by some puffs. He was in a great mood the rest of the night.
