Lost River Cavern

Last Saturday, I took the twins on an adventure.  We drove about an hour to the Lost River Caverns.  The drive was nice, through mountains.
Then we arrived in Hellertown.
The entrance was cool.  Lots to look at.

Not sure why there was a dinosaur.

We took a tour.  The cave was discovered in the 1800s.  It's owned privately.
The tour guide was great.  Noah total monopolized her.  He had so many questions and observations.
There was a very interesting history.

In this room they have weddings!  The town used to have dances in here before air conditioning was invented.

There was a lot to see.
This is water that seeps in and collects.  They pump it out.

This is the lost river.  It's what created the cave.  They have never been able to figure out where the river comes from and where it goes.  They actually put in ping pong balls with their phone number but no one ever called.  They even dyed the river red and put it out on the news that everyone should look out for red water but no one saw it.  Weird.

The boys loved the gift shop even more.
We drove home through the mountains again.
That night, Amy and I went to a bar mitzvah in Cherry Hill, NJ.  The boy broke his leg the week of his bar mitzvah in September.  They had the service as planned but had the party after he recovered.  It was at a beautiful country club.  I grew up with the boy's mom.
A sports theme!

Jaime and Abby with us.
Don't we look nice?
The food was great.
I lived with both these sisters for a time.
We danced the whole time and had so much fun.
Me and the boys.
