Chicago

I flew out Sunday morning and quickly arrived at Midway Airport.  The Southwest gates there were cool.  Big, comfy chairs with power outlets and free wi-fi.  Every airport should be like this.

They even have tables to eat, even though they are a bit small.

I had meetings after a quick trip downtown.

This was during the White Sox game last night.  The Sox were down 2 games to none but won this one to stay alive.

Dinner at Joe's was amazing.  That whole area of Chicago was neat.  Tons of cool places to go.

Flying back Monday morning.  Some good shots of the city.

You can see Soldier Field.

This was just west of Philly.  Some big farms.

I'm guessing a mine of some sort.

Limerick.

I'm now back at work.  Should have some good pictures of Aden to put up later.

In Chicago

In Chicago. Got here yesterday. Coming back today. Ate at Joes Stone Crab House last night. Very good. Miss Aden. Should have a better update later.

Bahama Breeze

Friday night was family night.  We drove over to New Jersey and wandered around until we ended up at Bahama Breeze.  Notice how Aden is sitting without being held.

The waitress asked if it was Aden's first time out.  If she only knew!

What do you do back here while we are driving?  One thing that's good about New Jersey is the cheap gas.  We paid $3.04 and they pump it for you!

Ready to Crawl

Well, "Under the Sea" seems to be a big hit.  I even put it on Youtube and people are looking.  I would have taken a longer clip but my memory card ran out.  That really is Aden dancing.  He does it all the time.  Pretty funny.  I will get a longer clip over the weekend.  So, I had my first cavity filled yesterday.  It actually wasn't bad.  It was so shallow, they didn't have to give me novocaine.  It was over in about 5 minutes and there was no pain!  I celebrated with a Blizzard from Dairy Queen!  When I got back to the City, Amy had dinner ready!  Very nice.

Aden was wide awake most of the night.  He had a busy day shopping on Walnut Street and having lunch with Danielle.

I have some dancing clips from here that I will post later.

Back to the belly.

Head is coming up.

Almost there.

Someone is ready to crawl!

Ok , that's enough.  Time to watch the Phillies win game 2!

I fed him this morning (at 6:30, after being put to bed at 9:30!) then plopped him on mommy's belly where he promptly fell asleep.

Under the Sea

You Had Me At Shalom

Wednesday morning Aden had escaped the swaddle.

Out more.  Back to hands up.

Now he's awake!

A little later we gave him belly time.  You saw the pictures before with him lifting his head and looking at himself in the mirror.  He eventually fell asleep.  We let him sleep on his belly.  We know that's against the rules these days but we were around and he seemed so comfortable.  We all slept on our bellies and we came out ok, well, maybe some of us.

Back to synagogue.  We usually don't go the second day of Rosh Hashana but they were having a special ceremony for all the newborns.  There was a big group of babies and they were very cute.  We all went up on the bima and the the three rabbis blessed everyone.  It was very sweet.

They even had presents for the babies.

Later that day, I went with my dad to the Phillies playoff game against the Brewers.  When we got there it was thundering and lightening and raining but they never stopped the game.  The rain came and went but everyone stayed at their seats.  Would have been nice if I had brought a jacket.

The sky was ominous.

Wave those rally towels.

Most of the scoring came in one inning.  The rest were mostly 1-2-3, so the game went fast.

The Phillie Phanatic attacked the Milwaukee sausage!

We had fun.  It was the first Phillies post season win since 1993!

Aden's First Rosh Hashana

I worked Monday and then came home to this!  It's getting harder to leave him every day!

Monday night, we had dinner with Amy's extended family at the Olympia Diner in Huntingdon Valley.  I know, first Maggios, then the Buck and now Olympia.  I'm scared for next year.  We did have a good time though.  I didn't take any pictures because the room was mirrored and the flash was reflecting everywhere.  All these people will be at Amy's house next week for Yom Kippur, so I will get some good pictures then.  Everyone enjoyed playing with Aden and talking.

Speaking of Aden, we got to eat brisket while he was still stuck with his yucky smelling formula!

Another bath!?!  Amy wants to give him a bath everyday.  He's starting to maybe like it a little.

Or not.  You trying to hit me?

Tuesday morning, Aden was enjoying some belly time.

Amy and I took Aden to Beth Am for the baby service.  The older kids service was in the main sanctuary, but the kids 3 and under had their own in the new chapel.  Those of you who have been following since the wedding know that the synagogue was under construction at the time.  It was our first look at the partially finished new wing.  Very nice so far.  Rabbi Sernovitz, or just Larry to us, was great with the kids and had them all singing and dancing.

Aden liked the music.

Aden was especially excited to be hanging out with his new friend Sam.  Sam seems to have recovered well from his Bris a couple of weeks ago.  Becky is looking great too! Look at 10 weeks compared to 3 weeks.  Amazing.

Proud pappa!

My mom made her usual awesome dinner Tuesday night.  Corn bread stuffed cornish hens.  Mark had several!  I'm late to synagogue, so I have to run, I will add more commentary later....
