It's Thursday night and I will finally get to some school pictures! Let's sadly finish the shore. This was Monday morning before Aden and I went on the boat. Aden had slept over my parents and we went to get him. He does really well sleeping there. We will have to get Ariel to do the same.
After the boat ride, we took the kids back to my parents to swim so we could pack.
Bye Summer! Bye beach houses! Bye playgrounds and boardwalk and Dino's and the beach and the pool and wave runners! We had tons of fun but it's still going to be a long Winter.
The car was really packed. It's amazing how much we accumulated over the Summer.
We could not go home without a couple of pies to eat over the Winter.
There was no traffic driving home. Melissa and Mark had us over for a very nice dinner.
The kids are going to miss having ice cream every night. Who am I kidding. They will always have ice cream every night!
Finally, Tuesday morning Amy was out the door early, so I got the kids ready for the first day of school. I dropped Aden off at Benjamin's house next door then took Ariel to Breezy Point. She was ready to go!
Every other kid was crying. Ariel asked why they were crying then proceeded to tell Mrs. Maria all about her swimming over the weekend. If you look closely you see the little boy screaming. Ariel was just like "Bye Dad!"Then I went back to get Aden. After 5 years of living here, we finally got to use the path behind our house for the purpose intended. We gathered Benjamin and Winston, Ava, Michael and Jason, and Jason and Ryan and walked to Holland Elementary.
I was so happy for the first week they let the parents walk the kids to the school and hang out until it was time to go inside.
Aden was comforted being surrounded by friends.
Mrs. Gainsley. She's incredibly sweet and is going to take such a great care of Aden. She was in pretty much constant contact with us this week including huge emails about everything they did everyday. I'm not sure how long all of that will last.
There's Aden's buddy Finn who he's been with since the Caterpillar class.
There's Jack! He's in the other class but they will see each other a lot.
The Breezy Point 5.
Holland is a small school. Less than 300 kids. It did seem like a lot though with everyone together.
There they go!
After school, I went to get Ariel. Looks like it was a tough day!
She had tons of fun.
Aden had a great day too! He went to the library and got a book about scorpions.
Aden didn't have homework the first night but he worked on his Summer journal.
Day 2! Ariel wanted to walk with Aden.
Here we go again. The teachers encouraged the kids to play.
Finn is a little wild.
Principal Sanko is a cool guy. He played with the kids.
As the kids were going in, Aden ran over for a hug from Ariel and I.
