The Franklin Institute

I went along on Aden's school trip to the Franklin Institute.
That's Aden's beloved teacher Mrs. Gainsley from last year.  Poor thing broke her foot pretty badly.
It was a long trip on an un-air conditioned school bus with 50 2nd graders.  This was my group.

Let's go!
I hadn't been there for a while.
Where to go first.
We had about 45 minutes before our first activity so we went to see the heart!  There is a giant heart that you can walk through.  It's been there since I was a kid.

This pendulum has also been around a long time.  It movements prove the Earth is spinning.
We next went to the sports area.  Here you can run against different athletes.

These bikes were geared differently to show which is better for hills.

Lots of things for the kids to do.
Aden was mesmerized by the different splashes made by different shaped objects.

Then it was time to head to the classrooms.

The kids answered some physics questions.

They were given different challenges to complete.  These tubes were magnetic and stuck to the wall.  They had to make balls move through in different ways.

Then we saw a 3d dinosaur movie.
This train has also been here as long as I can remember.

Fun trip!
Can't let you go without some shots of the babies.
